After Pakistan, India refused to send cricket teams for the Asian Games

The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to send its teams for the Asian Games 2023.

According to Indian media reports, India will participate in all the Asian Games except for cricket, but the men's and women's cricket teams will not participate in the event. BCCI refused to participate in the tournament citing prior engagements of the teams.

Reports say that India's Chief Mission for the Asian Games has confirmed the non-participation of the cricket teams, while no response was received from the board when contacted by the Indian Olympic Association.

On the other hand, the Indian Cricket Board has taken a stand that the Olympic Association had already been informed that our future tour programs are fixed, so it is difficult to send teams for the Asian Games.

It should be noted that the T20 cricket matches in the Asian Games are scheduled from September 23 in Hangzhou, China.

Earlier, the head of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Jay Shah had refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Currently, the Pakistan Cricket Board has adopted a position that if the Indian team does not come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, then the Pakistan team will not go to India for the World Cup 2023.
