If there was an electronic voting machine today, Pakistan would have been saved from the crisis, President of the State

Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that if there were EVMs today, my beloved Pakistan would have been saved from the crisis.

Remembering 'our' long struggle for electronic voting machines, EVMs had paper ballots that could be counted by hand (as is done today), in his tweet he said. There was also a simple electronic calculator/counter that could simultaneously count the buttons pressed for each vote.

The President said that the result of each candidate would have been available and printed within five minutes of the end of the polls, all our efforts, for which more than 50 meetings were held in the President's House, failed.

He further said that if there were EVMs today, my dear Pakistan would have been saved from this crisis.
