ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved the increase in the price of 20 more medicines including Paracetamol, while it has also approved fixing the maximum retail prices of 18 new medicines.

In the ECC meeting presided over by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the price of paracetamol simple tablet 500 mg was approved at Rs.2.67 and the price of paracetamol extra tablet 500 mg at Rs.3.32.


ECC has deferred electricity bills for the month of September 2022 for commercial consumers in flood-affected areas till the next billing cycle and ECC has also agreed to waive two months of bills for domestic consumers in flood-affected areas. and also approved an additional grant of Rs.10.34 billion

Apart from this, in the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to collect 76 billion rupees from the large consumers of electricity, for which a surcharge of one rupee per unit will be imposed on the large consumers of electricity, the surcharge will also be applied to the consumers of electricity.
