Texas: A book removed from a library in the United States 44 years ago has been returned.

The Abilene Public Library in the US state of Texas said in a Facebook post that the city's water department issued the book 'Chilton's Auto Repair Manual 1954-1963' 44 years ago.

The book was recently returned to the library after a delay of 16,600 days. However, no reason was given by the library for not returning the book

According to the Post, under the library's old system, a late return of a book would have resulted in a $1,606 fee, but the facility has waived all fees.
