Rawalpindi: In the 21st match of the 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United defeated Quetta Gladiators and entered the play-off stage of the tournament.
Quetta Gladiators had set a target of 180 runs for victory while Islamabad United won by 2 wickets. Colin Munro had a brilliant performance off 29 balls and scored 63 while Alex Hales managed just 12 runs.
Shadab Khan 8, Mubasar Khan 5, Azam Khan 35, Asif Ali 6, and Hasan Ali returned to the pavilion scoring one run while Rehmanullah Garbaz departed without opening an account. Faheem Ashraf 39 and Roman Raees remained not out without scoring a run.
The match was played between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi. When the match was tossed, it was won by Islamabad United. United won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Yasir Khan and Will Sameed opened for Quetta Gladiators. The first wicket of the Gladiators fell for a total of 3. Will Samid Fazlullah was left lbw for zero runs and returned to the pavilion.
On behalf of Quetta, Najeebullah Zardaran scored 59 runs and Muhammad Nawaz scored 52 runs, in total Gladiators scored 179 runs for the loss of six wickets.
