Rawalpindi: Police arrested Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed, he was produced in the court where the judge handed over Sheikh Rasheed to the police on two days physical remand.

According to Express News, Islamabad police arrested Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed from his residence in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi late at night and transferred him to police station secretariat after medical check-up. In the text of the FIR registered against Sheikh Rashid, the plaintiff has said that whoever wants to kill Imran Khan has all the information in this regard and is ready to tell. Moreover, Sheikh Rasheed wants to create conflict and enmity between PPP and PTI by mentioning a fabricated and baseless conspiracy so that the peace of the country will be disturbed. Therefore, the conspiracy should be thwarted by taking information from Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and all the characters should be arrested by using the authority of Section 150-151, and the unrest spreading in the country should be stopped.

According to the police, the case application was received on January 30, after receiving the application, a report was filed against Sheikh Rasheed and an inquiry was conducted under Section 196B. A case has been registered.


The police produced Sheikh Rasheed in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad where Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir handed over Sheikh Rasheed to the police on a two-day physical remand. The police had requested an eight-day remand, but the judge granted a two-day physical remand.
