Lahore: Hundreds of Hindu families who left Pakistan and went to India with the hope of a better future in their eyes have been living the life of nomads in the Indian capital New Delhi and Rajasthan for the past 9 years.
Contrary to the Indian government's illusory promises, they have not been given Indian citizenship till date, nor are they being provided with basic facilities. This has been confirmed by Hindu families returning from India.

Pyarushwani said that half of his family is still in India, he himself stayed there for two years but the smell of the soil and desire of his homeland forced him to return, staying in India as a guest was another thing but permanent. The stay was difficult. He came back and started his own business and is living a happy life today
Faqirukhchi, who returned from India in December 2020 with 46 Hindu citizens including his family, said that the days and nights he spent in the refugee camp in Delhi still seem like a nightmare. Those people went to India for a religious pilgrimage a few years ago and during that time, their relatives already in India gave them a dream that instead of going back to Pakistan, they should stay here in India, here they will find employment, their Children will get education, health facility and home. They settled there for this reason but had to lead a nomadic life for many years
Some Hindus returning from India, especially the youth, report that the Indian intelligence agencies visit Pakistani Hindu migrant camps and lure them to return to Pakistan and work for them, while their families are here. All facilities and money will be given, those who refuse are threatened and sent back
Despite these difficulties and problems, Hindu families are still going to India from Pakistan. Last week, 230 Hindu citizens have gone to India through the Wagah border, among them 190 Hindus including women and children were stopped at the Wagah border for a day, but the immigration authorities allowed them to go to India the next day. All these people have gone to India on a religious pilgrimage visa.
Hindu Singh Sodha is active in India to grant Indian citizenship to Pakistani Hindu immigrants who have left Pakistan and settled in India.
He said that he considers both Pakistan and India to be guilty regarding Hindu immigrants. If the Pakistan government solves their problems, if they are given protection, no Hindu will leave Pakistan and come to India, and the complaint against the Indian government is that it is not giving citizenship to these Pakistani Hindus despite the passage of so many years.
Nahu claimed that the number of Hindus who left Pakistan alone in Rajasthan is more than 20 thousand and they have not got Indian citizenship yet. According to the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, more than four and a half thousand Pakistanis have been granted Indian citizenship in the last five years, but still a large number of applications related to citizenship are pending.
In this regard, Krishan Sharma, head of the Pakistan Hindu Temple Management Committee, officially formed in Pakistan, while talking to the Express Tribune, said that there is no doubt that people from the Hindu community have gone to India from Pakistan for various reasons, but in the last few years. I have also returned in large numbers.
He said that he invites the Pakistani Hindus living in India to come back to their country, their return will be welcomed. The government will solve their problems and provide protection. The families returning from India are living a happy life. He said that 11 Pakistani Hindus were killed in Rajasthan India in 2020, their heirs have not got justice till date.
