BEIJING: Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi along with a financial delegation arrived in China on a 3-day visit where he met President Xi Jinping and discussed important global issues including nuclear energy and the war in Ukraine.
According to China's state media, this is the first Iranian president's visit to the country in 20 years. President Xi Jinping praised Iran's solidarity with China and said that in the context of the current complex changes in history, China and Iran have supported each other.
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi also described the relations with China as pleasant and said that they will continue to play their role for peace and stability in the region and the cooperation and relationship between the two countries will be stronger and stronger.
During the three-day period, Iranian Prime Minister Ebrahim Raisi will also meet the Chinese Prime Minister, Minister of Energy and Minister of Trade, and there is a possibility of signing many agreements between the two countries in these fields.
The Iranian president's visit comes at a time when Western countries have accused Iran of providing support to the Russian military following Russia's attack on Ukraine, and more or less the same accusation was leveled at China.
Apart from the Russia-Ukraine war, both countries are also facing economic sanctions from the US and other world powers due to their policies. For this reason, a new bloc of China, Russia and Iran is being formed in the world.
