CTD operations in Punjab, 5 terrorists of banned organizations arrested
Lahore: Counter Terrorism Department arrested 5 terrorists of banned organizations during various operations in Punjab.
According to the officials, a great success has been achieved in CTD operations, according to which 5 terrorists of TTP and SSK have been arrested from 3 districts of the province including Lahore. It has been reported that the terrorists were arrested from Lahore, Bahawalpur and Sheikhupura during a secret operation.
The terrorists arrested in Lahore were identified as Mehmood Musa, who belongs to TTP and is a key operative of the organization. Among the other arrested terrorists are Abdul Hanan, Rahmat Ali, Muawiya and Muhammad Arabi. Four cases have been registered against the accused and they have been shifted to an undisclosed location for investigation.
According to CTD officials, the terrorists had planned a large-scale terror attack in Punjab.
Apart from this, on the direction of IG Punjab, CTD conducted 458 combing operations this week, in which 97 suspects were arrested and 52 cases have been registered against them. Arrested persons will be brought to the logical conclusion according to law
