Sindh Chief Minister, Local Government Minister and Information Minister have been made parties in the petition



Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami has filed a contempt of court petition regarding the postponement of local body elections.

In the petition filed, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Munim Zafar and Saifuddin Advocate took the stand that the Sindh government's letter to the Election Commission to postpone the local elections is tantamount to contempt of court.

He said that the Supreme Court, Sindh High Court had ordered to hold elections on January 15. The Sindh government will be guilty of contempt of court by not holding elections.

Sindh Chief Minister, Local Government Minister and Information Minister have been made parties in the petition.
