Boston: The lights of a large high school (college) located in Massachusetts have been on since August 2021 and have not been turned off despite the best efforts.

According to experts, it is the automatic lights that are not turning off due to a software error, but the engineers have reached the root of the problem and it is expected that it will be possible to turn it off by next month. The 7,000 bulbs and LEDs of Minishaug Regional High School are still lit and it is not possible to take them out one by one, while shutting down the main power line will cause the entire college to lose power.

Aaron Osborne, the school's financial officer, said the electricity bill is too high and is going out of taxpayers' pockets. The college is 248,000 square feet wide and with seven thousand lights burning continuously, the bill is being paid every thousands of dollars.

In November 2021, it was learned that the automated computer system controlling the high school's lights failed in August 2021 and the lights have been on ever since. Despite millions of attempts, it could not be fixed. Now it is the case that the renovation of the lighting system will cost more than 1.2 million dollars which is equivalent to 28 crore rupees in Pakistani rupees. While the cost of updating the software can be up to 80 thousand dollars

Although the new equipment was ordered in October last year, there was a delay in installing it. After that, the deadline of December was set and there was no progress, now it will be tried again in February.

It is expected that this issue will be resolved soon
